South Side Academy will involve parents and the community to enhance its useful benefits to all students.

At South Side Academy you'll find a safe and secure learning environment, small class sizes, student centered instruction with free-tutoring, technology-focused classrooms, after-school programs, plus physical education and art education classes.

We offer free breakfast and lunch, transportation to eligible students, host family programs and festivals, along with hosting more than 25 community partners and programs.

“I like it at South Side Academy because my kids learn a lot. They are always challenged. My kids love school and love going to school. They love their teachers and principals. The dedication of the staff makes it a welcoming place for the students and families. The place is awesome!”
— Maria Rodriguez, Parent
I like coming to South Side Academy to learn new things. I like science and learning about chromosomes and DNA with the hands-on learning. I only come to school for Ms. Shaffer and Mrs. Groscost. I like it here because I know everyone here and I’m not scared to come here. I don’t normally like music, but I’m enjoying it this year. I like Mr. Rauschenbach being our art teacher. He gives us extended time to finish a project and doesn’t make us abandon our work.”
